Wilko Johnson

We first set up Facebook for legendary ex-Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson back in 2009, as part of the official social media for the band's documentary Oil City Confidential. Working in tandem with Oil City and our existing Dr. Feelgood, Ian Dury and 'Pub Rock' pages, the account grew from strength to strength, promoting Wilko's gigs, his latest releases and his acclaimed autobiography.

In 2013, Wilko's Facebook page became the first port of call for news on his much published illness, and our Facebook statements were quoted across the national press, BBC and Sky News. In early 2014, working with Universal Music, our social media - on both Facebook and Wilko's newly created Twitter account - was the driving force behind the success of 'Going Back Home', his joint album release with Roger Daltrey, which reached No.3 in the official UK album charts and featured in the Top 40 for over five months.

In just a few months, Wilko's Twitter following was touching 10,000 followers, while his official 'blue tick' Facebook page totalled close to 60,000 'Likes'.
